Brand new Halon TE guitar ashtray bridge, 1060 steel chrome gloss plate, MS-58 brass unplated saddles
We’re proud to present the Halon version of the vintage style, 3-saddle TE ‘Ashtray’ bridge. While we kept a fairly traditional look, we decided to use a more solid, mill machined bridge plate instead of the usual thin, roughly stamped one. As always, the different available alloys for the saddles allow everyone to match and finetune the tone for the TE guitar it will be fitted on.
With respect to tradition, we’ve designed our own Tele saddles with V-shaped string grooves. While preset to intonate plain G-strings perfectly, the middle D/G saddle has a different preset on its bottom more suitable for using a wound G. So if you’d like to use a wound G, all you need to do is just twist the saddle around and check and finetune your intonation setting. Also, to prevent string breakage we’ve rounded the edges of the holes where the strings pass through.
MS-58 brass saddles have a strong emphasis on the mid frequencies, offering a sweet, warm and fat tone. Apart from the tonal character there’s also a slightly compressed playing feel. These saddles lend themselves very well to TE guitars with a harsh, maybe overly bright basic tone.
